1. How to we arrange for a safari?
Contact us and supply us with your phone number, mailing address and group size and makeup. Examine our web site and printed material. Then discuss with us the goals you have for your time in the Greater Yellowstone Area. If necessary we will advise you on, or arrange your accommodations. Multi-day safaris for which accommodations are a part of the scheduled tour are prearranged. If you need help with airline tickets, please contact Montana Travel at www.mttravel.com.

While we do have some structured, pre-scheduled, and well defined services and safaris, to a major extent all outdoor experiences are unique, therefore we recommend personal communication (usually by phone) to give you the best idea of safari experience and activity options. With enough advance time email can work as well. We want you to know what to expect and we want to meet or exceed those expectations.

Based upon your interests and our discussion, we will suggest a one or more days safari that will best meet the goals of you and your group. If you decide to reserve a date with us, we'll review tour date(s) as well as meeting time and place. At that time we will also review our cancellation policy and accept your deposit. Deposits may be made with credit card or personal check. If deposits are mailed, we will give you a "tentative reservation" pending receipt of your deposit.

After your deposit is received you will receive a written confirmation and we will request you provide us with completed liability and appropriate questionnaire forms.

2. How do we get together and where do we start?
For single day safaris see the map "Our Region of Daily Service". Generally we will meet you anywhere within that map area, or arrange accommodations within that map area, and often we will meet you at your hotel. However, for efficiency sake, we often arrange a rendezvous site and time which best facilitates our safari plans and experience for that particular day and in relation to your accommodations.

3. Are your safaris suitable for children?
Our safaris are very suitable for children. In general, all our safaris are great for all members of the family to share and remember. All our guides are experienced working with, and facilitating an interactive learning experience for children.

Some important considerations: from about 5 years old and up (sometimes younger) children can very effectively use binoculars and spotting scopes though they may need some assistance. When younger than 2 years old, the child generally does not focus attention outside of his or her immediate area. So they really can't take advantage of the wildlife potential. Children this young can best enjoy the natural world simply by being in the company of family members, outside, in a secure natural landscape. Playing in a meadow or along a stream, and looking at natural curiosities are great activities.

4. Are your safaris suitable for seniors?
We can accommodate any level of physical activity, from total automobile safari to full day hiking, so they would do fine.
To be able to see certain features it may be required to walk. In most cases, an auto tour with short walks, will allow us to see all the major features.

Because the vehicles are so well equipped, we actually do lots of our wildlife watching from the vehicle. Indeed, the vehicle in many situations functions as a "blind."

5. What type of equipment is provided and what should we bring?
For most single-day services we provide everything you need for the experience. You provide the time, attitude and appropriate attire, and we'll take it from there! There are some accessories you should consider: hat, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, and camera with film are good year-around items to bring. Other items you may prefer to have with you include: field journal, personal binoculars (yours may be better than ours!), and daypack.

6. What's included in your safaris?
Each half-, full-, and multi-day safari is provided a professional wildlife guide, custom transportation, binocular and spotting scope use for each participant, snacks, beverages, lunch, and the opportunity for lifetime memories. Half-day tours do not include lunch unless requested.

Snowshoe equipment is provided for all snowshoe safaris.

Our "Personal Guide Service" provides the same guide service, but not the transportation and other amenities. The guide will bring a spotting scope and pair of binoculars for group use.
